Procedure

Pre-operational Safety Checks

• Always make sure you have permission to block of any paths prior to installing your barricades
• Make sure the location of your signage is clear for everyone to see
• Ensure you look above and below your working area. Make sure that you barricade all areas that may be affected by your work

Installing barricades

Note: Don’t use barricades in stairwells

• Make sure your tape is tight between bollards
• Set up your signage an appropriate distance away from your barricades to notify people of what you are doing
• If required, install signage to direct people down the desired route

Packing away barricade

• Remove barricading as soon as you can
• When removing barricades and signage, remove barricading first, then signage

House Keeping

• Ensure all WPS equipment is returned after your job is complete
